At the end of the 80's, the production of Megabass' first injection hard bait started. Its name was "Bait-X". The Bait-X's amazing irregular darting action on shallow bottoms and its outstanding bottom lip tapping action, which allows the bait to lick and contact mid-structure it encounters during the retrieve, reminds us of the escaping action of bottom-dwelling crustaceans, even though it looks like a shad.
Finally, the Bait-X concept has been revived in the cyber field of the 21st century. While the Griffon is a first mover that "ducks and dodges" when it comes into contact with structure, the Bait-X, like the original Bait-X, is an easy way to switch on resident lunkers through "dense contact" with any structure. Like the original Bait-X, the Bait-X has destructive power as a lip tapping crank bait. It is a masterpiece of slow moving contact that increases its destructive power the slower the bass conditions become.
