Despite its cute appearance, rumor has it that the X-30 sinking type was developed by Ito as a secret lure to catch spawning bass for anti-nesting. Bass, trout, and all other nervous fish eaters are keenly aware of the potential of this miniature plug. Megabass' proprietary set-up of a double hook in the opposite direction, with a custom-made shank length for ballast functionality, is also shown on the X-30 in the X-Bites Stage 2.
