Compared to the early LIVE-X model released in 1991, the concept Ito championed was “realistic plug made via injection molding.”
Although the body itself was molded from resin, it was finished with aluminum foil and intricate painting, achieving a level of realism that rivaled the handmade minnows for trout that were all the rage at the time. Furthermore, at this stage, two types were introduced the floating “Model 100 Floating Diver” and the suspending type enabling even more precise fishing strategies. Incidentally, while “suspending” is a common term today, there was no corresponding word at the time, so Megabass named it the “Model 100 PLUS.”
