White Butterfly is a color that has been available on Megabass topwater plugs since around 2009. As the name suggests, the color is an imitation of lepidopterous insects such as the Monarch butterfly and the American White Stork, and the crack pattern based on white is reminiscent of the wings of butterflies and moths. This crack painting is a highly handmade painting technique in which each crack is slightly different, and is secretly popular among core Megabass fans as a highly collectible coloring. The eyes, called “bug eyes,” have rainbow eyes that change color depending on the way light hits them, and their jewel-like shine enhances their insect-like appearance. From the angler's point of view, the color is highly visible and appealing, but on the silver screen looking up from underwater, it will create the natural appearance of a drowning butterfly or moth. This is a color that is especially effective in rainy weather and in low light in the morning and evening when insects tend to fall to the surface, and should be tried at points where overhangs and bushes are involved.
