At the end of the 80's, the production of Megabass' first injection hard bait started. Its name was "Bait-X". The Bait-X's amazing irregular darting action on shallow bottoms and its outstanding bottom lip tapping action, which allows the bait to lick and contact mid-structure it encounters during the retrieve, reminds us of the escaping action of bottom-dwelling crustaceans, even though it looks like a shad.
Finally, the Bait-X concept has been revived in the cyber field of the 21st century. While the Griffon is a first mover that "ducks and dodges" when it comes into contact with structure, the Bait-X, like the original Bait-X, is an easy way to switch on resident lunkers through "dense contact" with any structure. Like the original Bait-X, the Bait-X has destructive power as a lip tapping crank bait. It is a masterpiece of slow moving contact that increases its destructive power the slower the bass conditions become.

The Bait-X concept is a unique hydro-mechanical design that allows the lip to always be pressurized by the water flow even if it is inserted at any angle or position against any obstacle, such as riprap, laydowns, piers, tetrapods, and other obstacles of any shape. The lip is always pressurized by the water flow and keeps in contact with the structure without any action failure. Tight cranking action is more advantageous for resident fish and slower fish conditions.
